Responsibilities and functions:

  • Responsible for medical direction and overall coordination of medical care in your facility.

  • Review and sign incident reports, identify hazards to health and safety, provide recommendations to the sites’ administrator to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for residents, guests, and personnel.

  • Evaluate and take appropriate steps to correct situations of possible inadequate medical care that the Medical Director identifies or receives a report.

  • Be a medical representative of your site in discussions or meetings with other health care facilities, entities, or agencies.

  • Assist your Facility with special community outreach programs and educational activities, such as speaking engagements or internal education.

  • Attend QAPI Meetings for guidance and support.
